The Haven coat from Biyan is a striking study in pattern and texture, cut from a lightweight, semi-sheer organza in an earthy palette of chocolate, burgundy, taupe, and navy. A classic notched collar and single-breasted front with dark buttons give it a tailored foundation, while the relaxed, straight silhouette falls to a long midi length with easy long sleeves. The upper half features a bold geometric lattice print set with navy diamonds, which gives way below to flowing, wave-like bands reminiscent of layered earth or desert landscapes. Inset panels of molten gold lamé and richly worked burgundy velvet with metallic baroque detailing are woven through the design, outlined in fine copper stitching that ties the patchwork together. Artful and opulent yet effortless to throw on, it makes a dramatic layering piece over simple separates or eveningwear.
